Meet South Carolina Employment Lawyer and Litigation Attorney Andy Arnold

Since 1992, attorney W. Andrew (Andy) Arnold has been working with residents of South Carolina with employment matters, including violations of employment laws, business disputes, unfair trade practices, cases involving non-compete agreements and trade secrets.  Andy also handles nursing home neglect and abuse cases, wrongful death actions,  and other types of serious personal injury.

Located in Greenville, SC,  Andy Arnold began his practice as an employment and business litigation lawyer, representing plaintiffs and defendants in federal and state courts. Experienced in various types of litigation, Andy has also argued appeals to the South Carolina Supreme Court, the South Carolina Court of Appeals, and the 4th Circuit Court of Appeals in Richmond, Virginia.

With an extensive background in business law, he has performed a full range of legal services for small and large businesses, including negotiating and reviewing employment contracts, severance agreements, and organizing small limited liability companies. In addition to being a litigator, Andy Arnold is also a certified mediator.

Education

Andy Arnold earned his J.D. (or Juris Doctor) degree in 1992 from the University of South Carolina School of Law. While attending law school he was a member of the Wig and the Robe, Order of the Coif, and the ABA Real Property and Probate Journal. He graduated in the top 10 percent of his law school class with a 3.4 GPA. dIn 1989, Andy Arnold graduated from Furman University with a B.A. degree in Political Science. During his time at Furman University, he was elected President of College Democrats, attended the 1988 Democratic Convention, and traveled to and studied in the former Soviet Union during winter term 1989.

Teaching Experience

His interest in law extends beyond the courtroom and into the classroom. South Carolina business litigation attorney Andy Arnold has had the opportunity to teach at:

  • Webster University (9/1/2000-5/1/2001): Taught graduate level business classes: “Legal Issues in Human Resources” and “Ethical and Legal Issues in Management.”
  • Spartanburg Methodist College (Spring Semester 2001): Taught Political Science 101.

Community Involvement

Andy Arnold helps the residents of Greenville, SC not only as a successful personal injury and employment law attorney, but also by being involved and very active in the local community. In addition to helping South Carolina clients battle issues like nursing home neglect, elder abuse, and labor law infractions in the courtroom, Andy Arnold also assists the community by:

  • Formerly serving on the Leadership Greenville Board of Regents (Greenville Chamber of Commerce) and Jeremiah Project
  • Holding the position of Commissioner on the Greenville Housing Authority, which was appointed by City Council
  • Being elected to a second term as chairman of the Greenville County Democratic Party (2004 through 2008).

Other Interests

When he finds time to take a break from his busy practice, Andy Arnold finds time in his schedule for community involvement to enjoy other things in life. In addition to being a dedicated husband and father of three children, Andy also enjoys: politics, blogging, watching college football, dabbling in technology, reading philosophy, history, and biographies, running, and writing.
